SUN, SAND & SEA

I did this photoshoot back in Hong Kong. I don't know about you, but I like to pack as little as I can to the beach. Rather than bringing a beach cover, I wore this lightweight vest cardigan.

Tonight is my last full night in Taiwan and I am sad to say goodbye to this wonderful place. Travelling all over Taiwan and being able to drive through mountains during rainstorms and go surfing for the first time ever has been an absolute blast.

Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel as I will be uploading many travel vlogs, from Bangkok to Hong Kong and now Taiwan.

Elegant Punk x URBANE CONVICTION

Refined Badassery Necklace | Urbane Conviction

I love that this black lace dress is all nice and elegant, but then you have the contrasting studs on the shoulders that gives it a touch of punk. If you look closely, I actually used the same necklace from my Pink Panther  outfit and wore it as a head piece here. This versatile necklace definitely comes in handy if you’re always travelling like me!

Pink Panther x URBANE CONVICTION

For those days where you just do not want to think about what to wear, just throw on a romper. The 3 bows on this romper are just too cute to resist. I tossed in some vibrant colours by wearing this oversized Urbane Conviction pink blazer. This bright pink colour makes the overall outfit look a lot more summery and quite frankly, it’s nice to have an oversized blazer to wear because the aircon in malls can get really cold. To spice up the outfit, I wore this gold spikey necklace and added some gold bracelets. Just to top off the whole look, I tied my hair into a messy bun with my trusty bow hair tie.

This is going to sound a whole lot like a commercial, but trust me when I say I am not being paid to say this haha. They simply sent me their pink blazer and necklace so I could share how I would style them. With this being said, I would love to show some love and support for the team over at Urbane Conviction!

Urbane Conviction is an online fashion store based in Toronto (woo, fellow Canadian). Whether your style is laid back and casual, or more classy and business chic, they've got you covered. Urbane Conviction sell both female and male clothes & accessories, and they update their website daily so everything is always fresh and ready to be purchased. For those who are particularly interested in Asian clothing styles (yes, I'm looking at all you kpop fans), definitely check them out.

May I just add in there that I love the way they package your order? A little bonus for those of you living in downtown Toronto: If you make a purchase, your order will be delivered via their bike courier!

A special shout out goes out to Maiko, aka. the ever so fun and stylish girl at Urbane Conviction. She films fashion styling videos, called Fashion Fridays. If you ever need an extra boost of fashion inspiration, you can subscribe to their channel.

Last but not least, I think the only thing I might regret about being in Hong Kong right now is that I couldn't attend their launch party! Regardless, it was such a great success so check out their highlight clip here!

A Fabulous Escape

Hello from the beautiful city of Bangkok! I am thoroughly exhausted right now because I just came back from a 3 hour spa & massage and my whole body is currently in a state of jelly. All I feel like doing is diving into this glorious king sized bed and going to sleep right away, but I told myself that I would at least start drafting this blog post tonight.

A few days ago, I uploaded a 2014 Summer Lookbook video on my Youtube channel. If you haven't watched it yet, you're missing out! Doing a photoshoot in the busy local streets of Sheung Wan, Hong Kong was definitely interesting. It involved a lot of staring and pointing from strangers. Hence, most of the photos here were photobombed.

This has got to be one of my favourite outfits of the summer. It’s eye-catching and bold. If want to elongate your legs, find yourself a pair of high waisted shorts pronto. I paired these shorts with a striped long sleeve cropped top. As for the shoes, I gotta show some love to my epic platform heels. To accessorize, I wore a wide brim beach hat and added some silver bangles. And to add that kabam (is that even a word?) factor, I wore these amazing sunglasses and a red lip colour. These two elements just add the perfect touch of colour to this monochrome look.

Monster Sushi (Hong Kong)

 Mango California Roll

 Fried Udon

Scallop & Salmon Sushi; Salmon in three styles

 Fish

House Special Sashimi Flower (Seared Sea Urchin Sauce; Fatty Tuna; Snapper)

Sea Urchin & Kurama Shrimp Sushi

The other day, I did a photoshoot and filmed an upcoming fashion video in Langham Place in Hong Kong (vlog here). By the time I finished shooting for 2 outfits, I was exhausted and hungry. I decided to give Monster Sushi a try. Despite going on a weekday, I still had to wait 20-30 minutes. With this being said, it was definitely worth it. I loved the food there. I have never been a fan of sushi rolls but the mango california roll was a game changer. I loved the contrast between the sweet mango and salty roll - it was perfect.

I must say, my favourites were the sea urchin & kurama shrimp sushi and the cooked fish. Unfortunately, I could not find the exact name of the cooked dish in their online menu. This fish was amazing because the tomato sauce made it seem like a Japanese x Italian cuisine fusion. The fish itself was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. It was delightful. On the other hand, the sea urchin & kurama shrimp sushi was very fresh and stood out amongst all the others.

Despite the long wait and the fact that the waitress gave us the wrong dish, my experience at Monster Sushi was enjoyable. There was a relatively large variety in the menu, including the restaurant's signature "Monster Creativity" dishes. Not to mention, this meal was not expensive at all! If I remember correctly, the meal ended up being a little unver $500 HKD.
